About Us

Equine Notion was founded in the Netherlands by Nobuyuki Nonaka and Tetiana V. Nonaka, with a shared vision to explore the harmony between human consciousness and the natural order through coexistence with horses. Together they integrate philosophy, awareness research, and daily life with their herd—bridging human understanding and nature’s quiet intelligence.

Nobuyuki Nonaka

Nobuyuki Nonaka is a philosopher and practitioner dedicated to understanding how awareness and natural law shape human and equine behavior. With more than two decades of experience in consciousness research and human–nature relations, he has developed a practical philosophy that redefines coexistence beyond control or training.

Living in Markelo, the Netherlands, he observes a free-roaming herd of Icelandic horses who choose their own rhythm, shelter, and relationships within 3.4 hectares of forest and meadow. His study focuses on how horses mirror human emotion and intention, revealing that harmony arises not from force but from understanding.

Tetiana V. Nonaka

Tetiana V. Nonaka is a co-founder and philosopher whose work combines observation, communication, and intuitive understanding. Her background in international economics and behavioral strategy complements the philosophical foundation of Equine Notion, bringing clarity and structure to its development.

Tetiana’s role centers on connecting philosophy to practice—translating awareness into real-world systems of cooperation, education, and ethical coexistence. She also leads the creative and educational direction of Equine Notion’s programs and media.

Philosophy and Practice

The Nonakas live with their horses in an environment that reflects their philosophy: no stables, no confinement, and no riding. The horses live freely among trees and open fields, finding shelter and comfort through their own choices. This freedom is not neglect—it is respect for their innate intelligence and ability to adapt.

Observation, distance, timing, and respect form the structure of their interaction—principles that apply equally to relationships between humans.

Their work expands into writing, film production, and experiential learning designed to reconnect humans with the natural order.

Message

“The goal is not to change horses, nor to change ourselves — but to understand what was never broken.”
Equine Notion is not about methods or mastery; it is a living philosophy that reminds us that harmony already exists when we stop interrupting it.

“To understand horses is to understand yourself.”
