A situation-specific written analysis for owners who sense that a recurring problem cannot be understood by looking at one symptom alone.

Horses this service may be used for
Problem Advisory may be used when a horse’s situation includes behavioural difficulty, physical limitation, a condition already identified by the owner or a veterinary professional, injury, or an unexplained change. Our analysis does not diagnose or treat that condition. It examines the wider living system around the horse and separates observable facts, environmental conditions, owner decisions, uncertainty, and matters outside our scope.
Why the isolated moment is not enough
A single symptom, behaviour or moment can be recorded, but it cannot explain itself. Whether a difficulty appears on a given day is connected to the conditions of that day and of the days before it: what was eaten, how much movement happened, who was near, what changed, what stayed the same.
Problem Advisory exists because of that structure. It does not start from the isolated moment and ask what is wrong with the horse. It starts from the life the moment occurred in, and asks which conditions were present when the difficulty appeared — and which were present when it did not.
Our Eastern philosophical lens treats balance as something created through daily conditions: feed, movement, rest, herd life, land, seasons, human pressure and relationship. This is education and husbandry analysis—not diagnosis, veterinary treatment or emergency advice.
What we examine
The scope of the analysis is the system of daily living conditions in which your horse's difficulty occurs. Depending on your situation, that includes:
- When and where the difficulty appears — and when and where it does not
- Feed and water: what, how much, how often, and in what order
- The land: layout, surfaces, shelter, and how the horse actually uses them
- Movement: how much, of what kind, and at whose initiative
- Rest: where, how long, and how interrupted
- The herd: composition, distances, and who initiates contact
- Seasonal changes and changes over the horse's history
- Human intervention: handling, daily routines, and their timing
- Patterns across situations, and the conditions that coincide with the difficulty appearing or not appearing
What you provide
After payment confirmation, your private Case Room first asks for the baseline of the horse and the current living system. From there, only the next information that can materially improve the analysis is requested. Depending on the case, that includes:
- Your horse's basic information and relevant life history
- The current living conditions: land, housing, forage, water, movement, rest, herd and human routine where relevant
- A description of the recurring difficulty — when and where it appears, and when it does not
- Changes you have already made or tried, and what changed or did not change afterwards
- Short observations recorded in the Case Room, including 'no event' observations when an expected difficulty does not occur
- Answers to targeted follow-up questions generated from gaps or contradictions in the case record
- Only the photographs or video requested for the next analytical step, uploaded privately through the Case Room
- Your preferred language for the final report
How the work proceeds
Each service follows the private intake and delivery route described for it. Problem Advisory uses the secure Case Room for observations, targeted questions and private media; other services use their stated secure written route.
- You place the order through the cart and confirm it by bank transfer, using your payment reference
- After payment confirmation, the secure intake route for your purchased service becomes available
- You provide the baseline information and context requested for that service
- Where applicable, you record observations — including when a difficulty appears and when an expected difficulty does not appear
- You answer targeted follow-up questions and upload requested photographs or video privately when needed
- Equine Notion organises the case material and analyses it within the purchased scope, keeping reported facts, interpretation, uncertainty and contradictions separate
- The work is prepared individually and passes the applicable factual, scope and wording gates
- The final guide or report is delivered through the private route stated for the service
- Access and follow-up continue for the period included in the purchased service
What your report contains
Your final report is prepared individually from the Case Room record and delivered as a private web report with 90 days of access. It contains:
- The facts of your situation, organised as they were received
- The conditions of your horse's daily life, examined one by one
- Connections between conditions and the appearance or absence of the difficulty
- What remains uncertain, stated as uncertain
- Areas of the current life worth preserving as they are
- Areas worth reconsidering, with the reasoning shown
- Practical considerations for changes you may make
- Observation points for the period after any change
Follow-up by email
After the initial report, you may submit further material by email or through your existing secure submission route:
- Photographs
- Video
- Observation records
- Changes you have made
- What has changed
- What has not changed
- Newly noticed conditions
We compare the additional material with your initial material and provide a written reanalysis within your contracted tier.
There are no telephone calls, video calls, online meetings, or visits. All follow-up takes place in writing.
Follow-up by tier
- Essential — one horse, one main theme defined at order, and brief email clarifications for 14 days after delivery. A formal reanalysis is not included.
- Depth — 30 days after delivery of the initial report: 2 further submissions, 2 formal written reanalyses, one answered question per reanalysis, and brief email clarifications during the period.
- Complete — 90 days after delivery: formal written reanalyses at day 21, day 45 and day 90, each comparing new photographs, video and observation records with the initial and previous material; one answered question per reanalysis; a final synthesis at day 90; and brief email clarifications during the period.

What brief clarifications include
During the service period, brief questions needed to understand or apply our written observations may be answered by email. These clarifications do not normally use a formal reanalysis. They do not include a new analysis, a different issue, another horse, emergency support, or unlimited correspondence.
Brief clarifications are limited support included in your contracted service.
An illustrative report excerpt
Illustrative example — not a client case
Observed: The difficulty is described as appearing in the early evening on roughly half of the days recorded. The photographs show one hay station for three horses, placed twelve metres from the water. Video shows all three horses present at the station at the same time of day.
Conditions: Feed is provided twice daily in addition to the hay station. Movement occurs in a paddock of the size shown, with access to a shelter at the north edge. The herd has been stable in composition for two years. No seasonal change coincides with the period described.
Interpretation: The timing of the difficulty coincides with the period of highest competition around feed. This is one condition among several that repeats across the situations you describe. It does not by itself explain the difficulty.

Reports provide perspectives, questions and practical areas for the owner to consider and carry out. They do not promise an outcome. For acute pain, suspected colic, inability to stand, severe bleeding or another emergency, this service is not designed to provide real-time instructions.

Questions owners ask before ordering
How do I know whether this fits my situation?
If your difficulty is recurring, if it appears in some conditions and not others, and if you are prepared to look at the whole structure of your horse's daily life — it fits. If your question concerns a single urgent incident, it does not.
I have more than one horse. How is that handled?
Each analysis concerns one horse and that horse's situation. If you want more than one horse examined, they are prepared as separate cases — not as one combined report.
What photos and videos should I prepare?
You do not need to prepare a large media package in advance. The Case Room asks for photographs or video only when they can answer a specific open question in the analysis. Requested media is uploaded privately to the case.
What if my materials are not enough?
The Case Room identifies what is still unknown or contradictory and asks the next targeted question. Missing information is filled by further material from your actual situation, not by assumption.
What is a private web report?
Your final report is a private web report attached to your case. It is not published publicly and it is not a generic PDF template.
How long can I access the report?
Each delivered report includes 90 days of private access from its own delivery date.
Why bank transfer?
Payment is by bank transfer to the account shown at checkout, using your payment reference. The private Case Room becomes available after payment has been confirmed.
How is VAT handled?
VAT is calculated at checkout on the basis of your billing country, whether you order as a private individual or a business, and — for businesses — a validated EU VAT number where applicable. The confirmed amounts are shown before you place the order.
What about emergencies?
This service is not designed for emergencies. Acute pain, suspected colic, a horse that cannot rise, serious bleeding or any urgent situation requires your veterinarian, immediately.
Does this replace my veterinarian?
No. The analysis examines living conditions and daily structure. It neither diagnoses nor treats, and nothing in it should delay veterinary care.
In which language is the report written?
English, Dutch, German or French — you choose your preferred language in the Case Room.
What happens after I place the order?
You receive the bank-transfer details and your payment reference. After payment is confirmed, the private Problem Advisory Case Room becomes available from your dashboard. You add the horse's baseline and current environment, record observations, answer only the targeted follow-up questions that are needed, and upload requested photographs or video privately. The final written report is then delivered through the private case route.
What happens if nothing has changed?
A period in which nothing changes is still useful case evidence. Record what was implemented, when it began, and the situations in which the difficulty did or did not appear. If new material overturns an earlier premise, the analysis records that revision rather than forcing the original interpretation to remain.
Where does your work start from?
Our work begins with the horse's daily living system: movement, forage access, herd life, environment, rest, daily rhythms and human involvement. The service separates observation from interpretation and does not diagnose disease, prescribe treatment or claim to cure a horse.
Before you decide
Problem Advisory suits owners who are prepared to observe the structure of their horse's daily life rather than reduce the case to one isolated moment. After payment confirmation, the private Case Room guides the evidence-gathering process step by step; it does not require you to guess in advance which materials will matter.
